Outdoor activity has been more dormant than I like.  However, I have tried to offset that with a lot of inside focus toward improving my website SEO scoring, speed, and social media activity.  Hopefully, this pays off down the line when I begin a transition to commercializing this web-site.

A few projects and goals left to complete in Feb, include gathering my 2016 images and sending them off to the copyright office,  updating My Meeting page with information about the JCC classes that I will be teaching, and getting the word out to attend the FocusNY conference aka CanAm Convention.

For the last few years, my goals were externalizing on my home page. When I removed the content during a home page redesign, I sensed a lack of focus on what I wanted to accomplish. Recently a new semi-private web page was created to list my 2017 goals and progress.

You have to goals, and without recording and tracking them, you can become rudderless with your career ambitions.

I still have the new Nikon 70-200 f/2.8E for another week for the trial. Nikon has made some significant improvements on their flagship lens, chief among them are shaving off 12″ from the minimum focus distance specification and the VR is superb. My gear bag has two version of the earlier lenses, and there is a bit of a temptation to trade up..perhaps a road trip to NYC and B&H is a possibility.

You should have noticed that the sliding gallery on the home changed images from 1060×1237 to 1060×770.  The primary reason for doing this was to reduce loading time. Large images are a big gobbler of download bandwidth, and the change helped improved the page speed results.  I also like the new cropped version as it seems to put more drama, intensity, and interest in the image.

All the best
